Nirvana: Dumb

I'm not like them
But I can pretend
The sun is gone
But I have a light
The day is done
But I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb
or maybe just happy
Think I'm just happy

My heart is broke
But I have some glue
help me inhale
And mend it with you
We'll float around
And hang out on clouds
Then we'll come down
And have a hangover

Skin the sun
Fall asleep
Wish away
The soul is cheap
Lesson learned
Wish me luck
Soothe the burn
Wake me up

I'm not like them
But I can pretend
The sun is gone
But I have a light
The day is done
But I'm having fun
I think I'm dumb
or maybe just happy
Think I'm just happy

I think I'm dumb.

4 : charity : water

"WHY WATER.
Right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water. That's one in six of us.

WHO WE ARE.
charity: water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We give 100% of the money raised to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person in a developing nation clean water for 20 years."

-charitywater.org

Now I know I'm no Saint, but I ran across this site and couldn't help but to be compelled by the moving concept this organization stands for. Like many of you reading this, I too have my reasons for losing faith in charities, but charity : water ensures that 100% of donations are given to their partners in actively installing water wells in places that desperately need them.

Highly aware of the society we live in today, I have grown far too frustrated with mankind's excessive crimes of selfishness. I have decided to take the initiative of making every effort in being a more selfless person. If I may come off as being obnoxious, I'm sorry but I can't say that I give a shit. This planet is my home as well and I intend on doing my best to make sure it doesn't turn to shit.

Just 20$ can help a person in Africa get drinking water for 20 years. Amazing! Make a donation today. Save a life. Save the world. Save yourself.

Digg This???

Totally diggin this song.
Benoit Pioulard: Triggering Back

Letting go the days we knew when others fell before you
Half a statue carved in ochre
Lest we forget our will is a broken one oh honey

Deep resonation signs our declension
Some hesitation bears ready mention
Turn off the station to multiply the tension darling

I found a way to set aside the fact that I adore your
Laundry lists & long promenades
With haunting kisses & passing the days honey child

Signed & sealed & in this sound we hear the memory dying
Wondering if we paid attention
Would we have seen our proper ascension day
Oh there's no way

You got the Questions, I got the Answers???

Tom Septak: "How has electronics and technology shaped today's culture and society?"
  • As elaborated in the reading, electronics and technology today haven't only shaped culture and society, but has also connected all cultures and societies. No more do individual societies share and connect amongst themselves but all of them can. As we are all networked we become a SYSTEM of networks. Forever and always connected. When something happens in one country, another country will be aware of it.
Kira McDonald: "What are some other examples of heterotopias?
  • A hotel room, hospital, garden, library, gym, cemetery
Emily Suzuki: "Can you think of a place or object that you felt you knew intimately, but later discovered new elements of your experience with it, once you stepped away and separated yourself from it?"
  • Yes, my laptop for example. In touching the keys, looking at the screen, hearing the sounds, smelling the smell of the plastic and metal with electricity, it became a sensory tool that I connected with my personally. But when separate myself from it, it just becomes an object. An object which bewilders me in that its a flat rectangular box that has so much control over me.

Reading 3: Of Other Spaces???

  1. This is a tricky one. What IS a heterotopia?
  2. What is an example of both a heterotopia and a utopia (besides a mirror)?
  3. Do you believe that Heterotopic spaces can be considered as a "perfect space"?
  4. If having a complete experience means to be able to use all of your senses, what of those who unable to use a sense (i.e the blind, deaf, mute)? Are they not deserving of a complete experience?
  5. What are the seven types of heterotopias?

Reading 2: Space and Place???

  1. If sight and touch are key senses that lend us perception of our space and place, and if taste, smell, and skin sensitivity only "enrich" this apprehension, what can we expect of the blind who are sometimes dependent on these "enriching" senses?
  2. Our thoughts, actions, and identities are of high importance to us in that we dedicate keen analysis and perception of them. What about the importance of the space we exist in?
  3. As we differentiate the space in which we exist in and the place we exist in, to the degree of our comfort, are we only able to define our physical and mental existence through individual judgment?
  4. If our perception of our space and place and sense of orientation stem from our consciousness, can we not shape or define our experiences on a more personal level? At the expense of externalities?
  5. What makes mythical spaces and pragmatic spaces different?

Reading 1: ME++???

  1. As connectivity is the defining characteristic of our current condition, what then can we expect of much needed territory and/or privacy?
  2. As the artificial pulse of time and space increase with newer innovations, have we entered an era in which the construction of time has collapsed?
  3. Existing in networks that produce discontinuities, what is the importance of efficiency, safety, and security at the expense of one's real experience?
  4. As beings who are now able to multiply and distribute our points of physical agency through space and time, can we still consider ourselves as animals? Or are we super-human creatures with the potential of traveling through space and time?
  5. With the advent of "unrestricted gaze," where can we find comfort in personal territory and privacy in the world?
